It was a pleasure to welcome more than 80 young people to Clogher WwTW as part of Construction Futures Open Doors 2026.
Together with Northern Ireland Water, we opened our site to primary pupils, secondary students, college learners and Higher-Level Apprentices, giving them a first-hand look at how modern wastewater infrastructure is designed, built and operated.
From practical demonstrations and civils tours to a focused MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) session, visitors gained a clear insight into the engineering, teamwork and innovation behind essential services that protect communities and the environment.
As a joint venture between Deane Public Works Ltd, Lowry Building & Civil Engineering and Avove Utilities Ireland, we are proud to support initiatives that inspire the next generation and showcase the wide range of careers our sector offers.
If even a few of those who attended leave with a spark of interest in engineering, the day was a success. Thanks to everyone who attended.
