The site was bounded by an existing roadway, two access road ways, the Canal & agricultural lands. Other works included extensive embankment construction / new vertical road alignment, incorporating drainage, safety fencing, public lighting & services provision, road markings & signage, pavement construction & road surfacing.

There was also accommodation works to create an amenity area & access to properties affected by the works as well as extensive realignment of the canal including the installation of a canal liner.

The Puddle clay material was sampled & tested in accordance with BS 1377 (1990) & BS 5930 (1981) & was approved for use by Waterways Ireland prior to installation.

The works required careful management of the watercourse & detailed environmental plans were agreed with Longford County Council

The project took 32 weeks to complete and by increasing our site workforce at key stages, ensured the successful delivery of the works on time and within budget.
